Abstract

Purpose: The descriptive survey study aimed to investigate the influences of anxiety and resilience on preventive health behavior in nursing student against COVID-19.

Methods: A convenience sampling was performed in nursing students from November 1 to 15, 2022. The questionnaire-response data of 145 students were analyzed. SPSS/WIN 28.0 software was used for data analyses, including descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation, ANOVA, and multiple regression.

Results: Preventive health behavior against COVID-19 was positively correlated with anxiety (r=0.62, p£¼0.001) and resilience (r=0.40, p£¼0.001). These factors remained significant following multiple regression analysis (anxiety: ?=0.54, p£¼0.001; resilience: ?=0.21, p=0.003), with a total explanatory power of 42.5%.

Conclusion: The results support the development of an education-intervention program aimed at increasing resilience and preventive health behavior and reducing COVID-19 anxiety among nursing students.
